Featuring comfortable and affordable Vanuatu accommodation, Hideaway Island Resort suits singles, couples and families with a range of room types from shared dorms to oceanfront villas. The shared dorms offer basic rooms with shared bathroom facilities, while the bungalows offer more private accommodation with ensuites and decks. The beautiful oceanfront villas are a little more luxurious with air conditioning, TV and internet access.
Hideaway Island Resort is also home to a marine sanctuary that is one of few places in the world where guests can hand feed hundreds of friendly and colourful tropical fish. This is a popular spot for dive enthusiasts with an array of dive sites only minutes from the resort itself. Quad Share Room: These rooms are fan cooled. Each bed has an individual bunk light, power outlet and locker. These rooms are a part of a block which offers a central common area with lounge with cable TV and computer with internet facilities, separate male and female bathrooms with 2 showers, 3 toilets and 2 wash basins. Children are not allowed in this room type unless the entire dorm is booked out for a children's group. Bedding is 2 Bunk Beds. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults.
Twin Share Room: Ideal budget accommodation for couples or single travellers. Also called twin dorms, there are 6 twin share units located right on the beach. The lodges feature wide wrap-around covered verandah with tables and chairs and are in a prime position for lazing and watching the world go by. The rooms are furnished with a small cupboard and a hand basin. Separate shared shower and toilet facilities are close by. Bedding is 1 Double Bed OR 2 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults. Children 15 years and under are not allowed in the twin share rooms.
Semi Attached 1 Bedroom Oceanfront Bungalow: Feature high ceilings and tasteful tropical decor. Also features a covered porch with a comfortable hammock, bar fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. Room size is 60m². Bedding is 1 Queen Bed + 3 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity is 5 Adults & Children.
1 Bedroom Oceanfront Bungalow: Offers spectacular views over the water. These bungalows are the largest rooms, however they maintain that Melanesian feel with coral decorating the outer walls and local artefacts adorning the interior. Double doors separate the bedroom from the living area and each bungalow features a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, comfortable sofa setting, table and chairs in the living area and a wooden or coral deck outside with chairs and a double hammock. Room size is 60m². Bedding is Bedding is 1 Queen Bed + 3 Single Beds. Maximum room capacity is 5 Adults & Children.
1 Bedroom Oceanfront Villa: Features a stunning oceanfront setting looking out towards the sunset, the villa boasts a kitchen, wireless internet (fee), air conditioning, TV and DVD/CD player. Room size is 230m². Bedding is 1 Queen Bed. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults. Children 9 years and under are not accepted in this room type.
1 Bedroom Oceanfront Villa with Pool: This beautiful air conditioned villa offers stunning ocean views from it's prime position on low bank waterfront. Featuring a combined living, dining and kitchen area, TV and DVD/CD player, Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean, outdoor patio, lawn area and private pool, this villa also include free internet services. The bedroom is located upstairs and features a four poster queen bed. Bedding is 1 Queen Bed. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults. Children are not accepted in this room type.
On the Beach Bar & Restaurant: Relax with the sand between your toes and a cocktail in hand while enjoying first class food over a view of crystal waters and tropical coral. Featuring a blackboard menu, specialties change daily depending on the fresh local produce available.
Vanuatu Post: The world's only official underwater post office, Vanuatu Post is situated in the Hideaway Island marine sanctuary. From here, divers and snorkellers can post 'waterproof postcards' from the bottom of the water.

Surrounded by 18 dive sites all within minutes from the resort, Hideaway Island is popular for scuba diving and snorkelling. Single tank dives are scheduled for 8.30 am, 10.30 am and 2 pm each day no matter how many or few divers wish to go out.
The resort is a full PADI Association Member and offers rental of underwater cameras and full dive gear. A full range of PADI dive courses to suit all skill levels are offered and are accompanied by qualified live-in instructors.
Vanuatu's premier golf course is located just a few minutes from Hideaway Island on the mainland. A relatively flat course with beautiful views of Mele Bay, many are fooled into thinking it's easy but the sand traps and surrounding trees keep all 18 holes interesting by offering plenty of challenges.

Villa living within steps of the best snorkelling in the world. The meals were so fresh and delicious. The staff were so happy and couldn't do enough for us. We loved every minute. They have had a tough time reopening after covid and two cyclones so there may still be a few things not quite perfect in the accommodation however if you can look past that, you'll have the best time at Hideaway Island Resort.
Absolutely loved it! The island was quiet, not full of tourists which I appreciated! The people of Vanuatu are so friendly and welcoming! Snorkelling the reefs everyday with all of the colourful fish just outside our room. Couldn’t have asked for a better holiday.
Our Vanuatu trip was amazing, the people were kind, every single person will smile and wave. Hideaway island was magical and very laid back, it was quiet, which I appreciated, not full of tourists! Snorkelling everyday was a dream. Would 100% go again, loved every minute!!!!!
We had the most amazing holiday staying at Hideaway Resort in Vanuatu. The activities were amazing, the food was wonderful and the staff were absolutely gorgeous! We were treated with the highest quality of customer service by all the staff! I have already recommended the resort to all of my friends and people I have met! I would go back in a heart beat!
Hideaway Island Resort is quiet, relaxed and away from the crowds. The staff were fantastic and willing to attend to any requests we had. Rooms are basic but clean and tidy. The kids loved the use of the paddle boards and kayaks. Snorkeling on the Marine Sanctuary straight from the beach is a big plus. This is our second stay at Hideaway Island and we are glad we chose to return here. We will definitely be back in the near future.

Have just got back from an 8 night stay at Hideaway and we are already looking to book for next year.
The location is amazing and so easy to get to. The staff are lovely and our Pool Villa was exactly what we were looking for in accommodation. If you are looking for a five star resort, then this may not be for you. But if you are looking for a relaxed, laid back atmosphere in a great location with ever smiling helpful staff (and amazing snorkeling!!) then this may just be right up your alley!
The Villa 1 although a little run down was very spacious and great for a family with two teens (loved the wifi of course). Staff are all lovely and helpful, food and drink is reasonably priced. Great to be able to walk off the beach and snorkel around the abundant marine life.
We had a lovely time at hideaway. The only negative comment is that the rooms need attention. The shower and the switches for lights and fans need serious attention (BUNGALOW 1) but in saying that we coped. The restaurant menu could be a bit better. Positive comments - the staff were very helpful and friendly, the tours included were excellent. We thouroughly enjoyed our time. Thankyou
