Port Vila Discovery
Join Adventures in Paradise on their Port Vila Discovery tour. This Vanuatu tour only takes 3.5 hours and is a fantastic introduction to Port Vila. A valuable addition to any Vanuatu holiday can be used at the start of holiday, or as a stopover on the way out to see and understand more about Port Vila's culture and customs than possible wandering solo.
The tour bus will collect participants from Port Vila accommodation and takes you past the new Parliament House built by the Chinese Government, the local markets and the main shopping area of town. The first stop is at the National Museum with a guided tour of the exhibits on Vanuatu's geology, history and customs, including ritual clubs for killing pigs, arrow points made from human bones, pig tusk bracelets presented to the Queen and artefacts.
Rejoin your bus and travel to a boutique brewery, followed by a drive to the colourful Diana Tam Gallery. Diana is a renowned local artist and here you will have time to see her Home Studio and Gallery displaying paintings, glassware, t-shirts, linen, gift cards and limited edition prints. Next stop is a visit to the Michtoutouchkine Foundation Museum where you can admire the designs of the Pacific's foremost artist who,together with his partner Pilioko, have established a foundation for the preservation of artistic values in the South Pacific.
