Ratua Island is located off the island of Espiritu Santo, just 30 minutes boat ride from the Airport. This Vanuatu accommodation offers 146 acres to explore by foot, horse back, mountain bike or buggy and is protected by Aore and Malo Islands so the weather and waters are almost always calm and pleasant for guests to enjoy. Ratua Island offers privacy and relaxation, the rooms are unique and comfortable for guests to soak up the tropical atmosphere.

There are many activities on Ratua so there is no need to worry about getting bored. Go for a horse ride along the beach, take a dip in the crystal clear waters right outside your door step. Take some time to explore the surrounding areas, blue holes, the famous Champagne beach and visit the local villages and schools. The menu at Ratua has been created using only locally grown organic products, fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy and meats. 15 Indonesian-style villas are shared between 3 villages: Fish Village, West Point Village and South Point Village.

These individual 200-year-old homes were brought specially to Ratua and reconstructed on sites offering stunning views with a private deck or beach. Surrounded by lush gardens.

Dining

Depending on your mood, choose an elegant dinner on white linen in the Yacht Club dining room, a casual beach barbecue or a relaxed French-style tablecloth picnic on the white sands of nearby islands.

Menus are based on a simple philosophy of the best quality local ingredients. We use 100 percent fresh organic ingredients, mostly fruits and vegetables cultivated in the island's Kitchen Garden from pineapples, oranges and grapefruit, to coconuts, tarot and tomatoes. These are supplemented by local meat and seafood from local anglers daily all as you request.

Ratua's wine cellar houses vintages from around the world including some Australian, New Zealand and French wines. You will also discover some special champagne and wines exclusively imported from France just for Ratua.

Yacht Club: This meeting place is the Islands social center, composed of an open dining room, lounge and bar each under it's own soaring thatched roof just off a central plein-air wooden deck.

Getting There

Espiritu Santo's Luganville Airport is an hour's flight by light aircraft from Port Vila. From here Ratua is just a 30-minute motorboat journey from Espiritu Santo airport by private launch which is included in the room rate.
